Screaming in carseat
posted 7th Feb
Please tell me there is a light at the end of the tunnel and this is just a horrible phase. For the first few week my little one sat in her carseat just fine. She could be in it for two hrs with no problem and now (9weeks old) she screams and cries the whole time. To the point she can't catch her breath, throws up, sweats. I mean a serious fit. She has toys hanging, someone sits with her back there most of the time. Tried paci and bottle. It makes me cry too sometimes. Any suggestions?

I have no advice for you unfortunately. My almost 19 month old is like that. Always has been! She is still rear facing and my older 3 are near her and it doesn't matter. She screams like she's dyin anytime we go anywhere. I hope your LO grows out of it!

I hope there is a light for you because my three year old is like that too. She has very few good days in the car. I wish you luck.

My noece did this till 4 yrs old....no lie, it got my brother a lot of speeding tickets lol He couldnt take it. We once traveled 8 hrs in the car with her and she only stopped screaming when we stopped to eat.
Once she moved to a booster she was fine, she is almost 12 now.

My son did that when he was an infant, but he grew out of it. He didn't like the sun in his eyes. Do you have tinted windows or one of those baby window shade things?

Maybe she doesn't like her infant seat? Try getting her into a convertible seat. But I hope there's light at the end. My DD is 21m (still rearfacing) and throws a fit too. She screams, cries, kicks her legs, bangs the back of her head. Toys and pacis don't help. I'm assuming she wants to forward face already, but that's not an option for us, so we're just riding it out and hope she gets over it one day

My nephew is 15 months old and has done that since he was a newborn... it is very stressful. He won't take a paci either, just cries until he can't breathe. I wish I had some advice

Goodfor you for keeping your child safest so many people use that as an excuse to turn their babies around too early
And I agree maybe she doesn't like being so reclined. Dd liked her convertible seat better.

My daughter SCREAMED bloody murder for 6-8 months when ever she was in the carseat. It got a little better at 4 months when we got rid of the infant seat and put her in the myride 65. lol it was hell. I only left the house if I had no other choice. my son ( 7 weeks) goes to sleep as soon as you turn the key

I HATE that excuse. My DS happily RFd until a few weeks after turning 3 (hit the weight limit for his seat). My DD is only 21lbs still. I dread going anywhere with her. Lol.
Her diono is coming today (she's in a regular convertible right now). I hope the new shape of the seat will help some with her fussing my son loved being in the car. So with my luck my daughter hates it. Haha
