interesting.. mine was all natural, i think i probably had an i.v. in for fluids but otherwise no meds, no epidural but my OB was really awesome, she didn't end up delivering but they looked at my file and listened to everything i asked/said

I was able to walk tonds but every so often they would monitor my contractions and you had to be tied down to the monitor but it was only twenty minutes or so. I didn't feel that they pushed medications for pain on me at all. They did not let me shower at all! And no they will not let you leave after a few hours of your feeling better.

you can leave. you just have to sign papers that you're leaving against what they want so if something happens you can't sue them.. they can't keep you though.. my sister has had 2 hospital births and checked out early both times

Well, good. I'll end up calling both and asking how they handle this situation. I'm NOT staying the full 24 hours, unless I get my tubes tied while I am there.

i think i've stayed 48 with both mine! with medicaid they try to keep you as long as possible cause the hospital gets more money that way..

I only found one person who charged 2,000$. Well, I think... MAYBE one other person. I e-mailed at least 10 midwives & called a few others. I was very determined, lol. The reason mine is 2,000$ is because she is not actually certified yet, BUT she works directly under a senior midwife & has a lot of experience. So I'm basically getting two for the price of one. The average price though is about 3,000$

Includes all prenatal care & up to 6 wks PP.

I would see if you could sit down and speak with either doctor and ask to tour the hospital.. some places are really good about listening to wishes, others are not.. if they've seen that you've had a home birth they may realize that you CAN do it on your own without all the wires.. for me i'm high risk so i have to have all the monitors and all that craziness.. but i guess i don't mind, just used to it lol. My drs really only gave me the choice as to whether i wanted a epidural or not.. the others i wasn't able to decide since mine were micro-preemie and preemie.. good luck op! i hope you can find someone who listens to your wishes and makes it possible when the time comes!
