Pretty sure thats whatits called. The little peice of skin under your upper lip. My 13 minth old either fell or purposely just banged his face against the entertainment center and blood started coming out of his mouth.. He has a fat lip and the frenulum is ripped clearly. Its not bleeding much now, but there isnt anytng i can do is there?

Does it normally heal back to normal?

My kids' dentist said if this happens to bring them in for X-rays to make sure there isn't damage.

Yeah. I mean it'll heal but that piece of skin wont be there anymore. That happened to my DS and I rushed him to the doctor and the Dr. Just smiled and said he'll be fine. He told us that people actually get those cut for cosmetic reasons. He should be fine

Okay i was just wondering if i should expect it to completey go back to what itlooked like. What cosmetic reason would justify that, how does it change your looks? Lol but thanks. I wasnt too worried i just wanted to make sure!

My son (13 mo.) just did the EXACT same thing last week. NUTS. I thought it was just my kid who could figure out to split that thing open.

Both my boys have done it (around that age too)
I think almost every kid does it at some point. It heals pretty fast

My daughter fell off a chair and ripped through hers. Her's went behind it and through it, if that makes sense? It also separated completely from her gum line, there was a huge gap. It was gushing blood, so we ended up taking her to the base ER and they said that they can't really do much for that, to just keep pressure on it until it heals.
Bonus tho, hers was pretty low hanging, so it was causing a funny gap in her teeth. We were planning on getting it cut at the dentist to keep her big teeth from coming in with a gap as well. The injury caused it to separate from her gums and go into a normal position.
