What should I do about this cut? *pic*

My brother says I don't need stitches but since the cut was on my knuckle, the skin shrunk and won't close on it's own. I'm so upset he refuses to even take me to the pharmacy to get some steri-strips.


I have to wait 2 hrs to drop off my son is school to be able to go to the pharmacy will that be too late to put on the steri-strips? The skin is shrinking even more, making the wound even bigger  

ETA: I don't have insurance so I can't go to the ER anyways

It may not need stitches but it may need gluing shut...

Cover it to keep it moist until you can get to the store? I had a similar nasty cut like that, only it was on the side of my wrist, I used those butterfly bandaid strip things, whatever they're called, lol. It healed up nicely. Until I could go get those I just used bandaids/waterproof tape to keep it closed.

i would say that would need stitches. SO cut himself on the knuckle at it look like that he had to have stitches..

That can get infected way too easily. I'd go get stitches

yep. wash it really well and super glue it shut. have soembody help you if needed

I would be worried about sepsis with a cut like that. If you start to see red streaking down your finger or up your arm you're going to need to go to the ER.

It doesn't close completely because of how it's shrinking so I'm scared of putting glue insuide  

Clean it with peroxide (sp) them just simply put some super glue it will seal it close.

thats all the ER will do, super glue or stitches. i've super glued my finger twice. it sucks but i didnt have to go to the ER

I did it!Thank you so much! Now, I have no idea how I will write in class today because I can't bend my finger.

Super glue it shut. It'll prob sting a little, but it would if you were getting stitches just the same AND it'd be cheaper. Clean it real well before super gluing it though.

I had a cut like that on my foot, and I developed a very bad skin infection I am still trying to get rid of.... I would get it checked out. I'm pretty sure the cut is what caused it.
