It may not sound nice, but if you rub baby oil into the skin between you vigina and anal area, it will reduce the chances of tearing as it helps the skin strech further. hope this helps!

I was cut with my first because the 37 week sonogram showed she was a big baby. But my doctor told me that they would cut me if neccesary. I'm glad he did because I would have torn to my rectum and he cut me so it wouldn't. I had 13 stitches. It was uncomfortable but I had a spray that they gave me that numbed it. I also breastfed for a few months but had to switch to formula due to work and school. It does hurt at first and if you over do it, your nipples can crack and bleed. I used a pump mostly but don't remember the brand it was. This baby is 12 now and I'm currently pregnant with my fourth and final child which is due March 25.

I had to have a major cut when I delivered my son and I did it without any drugs. I felt a little burning sensation when he crowned but nothing major. Not much pain from it after wards. Just the normal soreness. I didn't have any problems with it healing. It healed in about a 2 weeks. And I was able to resume having sex after 6 weeks. Probably could have sooner but I said NO WAY!!!!
Breastfeeding is a wonderful experience and it helps you bond with your baby. It doesn't feel weird once you get started. And you can buy breast pads to soak up any leakage. Any amount of time you can give your baby breastmilk is good for them.
