I can't have children without medical assistance due to a medical condition that isn't my fault. So because of that I don't deserve a child?

why wouldnt you just choose an insurance company that does cover it if your current one doesnt?

No, I do not believe it should be mandatory. But, I believe in my state, Texas, IVF is covered.

children are not seen as necessary in insurance agents minds. you aren't going to die if you dont have a child. If you don't get treatment for cancer you will die. big difference

Smurf you too, it's not anyone else's responsibility to pay for you to get pregnant.
I'm sorry that you have fertility issues but it's not your insurance company's issue.

I live in Texas and it isn't covered under most insurance. My friend wanted to do that when she was TTC for eight years but couldn't afford to pay 10 grand for it.

But I have a MEDICAL condition that doesn't let me ovulate that will lead to cancer, why can't I get coverage for medications that will fix that?

I pay 400 per cycle for fertility meds and monitoring, and under my husband employer we pay 300 a month for insurance.

YOu should have coverage for that. And Metformin is fairly cheap as well as Clomid. (Here it is $50 for a one month supply)

the point is. YOU DONT HAVE CANCER. and ovulating is not a medical necessity. you will not die if you do not ovulate.

Hear of menopause? they dont ovulate either. they dont die

Hmm...

I haven't looked over our insurance, but I know that my BIL and SIL have the same plan as us. My BIL had said that it was covered, but everything is iffy with him. I'm not arguing, btw...just babbling.
