You have not failed at all. I would really try to have a serious conversation with your DH about his improvements

My oldest son has ADD. We got him diagnosed 3 years ago last month. Since his diagnosis we've had him in counciling and its done wonderful. We changed his diet and put him on a routine. He hardly has starch or sweets( no koolaid). If he drinks tea its decaffinated and before 6 om. My son is not medicated and he gets great grades and is doing well behaviorly. His teachers say he just needs a little more redirecting than most students. You have not failed your son. Some children just need more attention than others.

If he wants soda its clear soda ir orange. Where it doesn't have caffeine. He doesn't get a lot of starch. Sweets are almost completely cut out. If he gets some its on special occasions. When he gets off school he eats fruit or a vegetable(like baby carrots). No chips and such. We don't even have chips in our house. He goe to bed the same time every night including weekends and during summer break. He gets up at the same time too.
