How do I figure out when is the best time to baby dance? I hear the week before my period, but then I put my information in a tracker and it says in 3 days, I'll ovulate. How is that possible when I just finished a period? If it helps, the first day of my last period was Jan 26th. Help please!!

Most women will have their first fertile day right after their period. Sperm can live on for a week in you, so sexing it up a week before and a week after you are supposed to O is a good idea. And it goes off the first day of your last period.

The first day of your last period would be the start of a new cycle....so about 14 ish days from then is about when you would ovulate

That is my only suggestion. LOL

Ovulation usually occurs 2 weeks before your period is due to start. For the a stage woman with a 28 day cycle, it occurs on cycle day 14 (day 1 is the first day of your period). It varies by woman. If you have a longer cycle, you might not O until CD17 or later. You should have sex in your fertile window (the 3-4 days becore you ovulate and ovulation day).

You can find out when you ovulate by using OPKs, taking your temperature daily with a basal body thermometer, checking the position of your cervix, and checking your cervical mucus/discharge (fertile mucus is stretchy and looks/feels like egg whites). If you don't want to start all that, do it every other day from around cycle day 10 until your period.  . That's what we did when I got pregnant with DD.

OPKs might be a good start and I can usually tell when I am ovulating so that helps.

  That is definitely a good start. I would start using them ASAP, since you're approaching the middle of your cycle and since ovulation usually occurs 24 hours (I've heard anywhere between 12 and 48 hours is the full window) after you get a positive OPK. How long are your cycles?

If by this, you mean a period...about 6 days start to finish.

Oh, I meant how long is it between your first day of once cycle to the first day of the next? Although most people are 28 days, mine range from 28 to 37 so I never really ovulate at the same time every month. Frustrating!

Mine are pretty consistent. I'd say 28-30.
