Tantrums

posted 6th Feb
My kid has started having them. When she wants something like my phone for example. And If I take it away or don't let her have it she throws a fit. Throws her self down and starts screaming.
I feel bad and useally just give her what she wants.
She is only 11 months old so she's still young and I hate to see her cry.

Should I just ignore it?

That's what I use to do. Ignore bratty tantrums but make sure she's not in danger of hurting herself. As she gets older, her types of tantrums will change. You'll know you should try to calm her down and pay attention and when not to. At this time, let her throw a tantrum. When she's done, talk to her. Let her know that we do not kick or scream when we don't get our way. She'll start to understand eventually but will probably throw tantrums anyway   toddler life.

My DS is 16 months and since he started throwing tantrums I have always let him cry a few minutes and then I pick him up. As soon as I pick him he calms down and then I tell him he can't have such n such because of whatever reason. Now he usually calms down within the few minutes and I make him come to me.
