Im not reading too much into it at all, it is what it is. There is going to be so many regular workers who are going to feel discriminated against cause they will get stuck with the smurf shifts, just for the reason that they DONT have kids.

Its a horrible idea. Parents already abused the nicer employees who did give parents every shift request to begin with. And then parents are going to request to have holidays off cause they have kids and none parent workers will continue to get the shaft. Its not fair .

If you choose to have kids, then you should be prepared to have daycare lined up before you get a job to be available anytime.

I didn't say you were "reading too much into it" I said you were over-estimating the effect it'll have. You aren't alone, a lot of Canadians without legal knowledge are doing the same thing, but you're wrong.

And you're contradicting yourself now because you said your past employers didn't give two smurfs about your family issues, now all of a sudden they're nice employers who were taken advantage of?

Yes I said Walmart and McDonald's. Didn't. I have worked elsewhere many different place I stated in the retail store I work in. ATM. Well still on leave from.

Sounds like you're taking advantage of your nice employer. Maybe give the hard working employees a fair shot.

No not the case at all. lol I was on paid parental leave. But I extended it, cause my dd is ill and no daycare will take her on cause of it. I have been replaced at work, and have quit. But as soon as we figure out the picture picture with her health I can go back to work anytime. My job will be given back to me. I have to reapply to do the process all over again, but they already stated since I was a valuable employee they would take me back in a heartbeat.

But I am looking at going back to school instead. Where my dd can be in the same place has me so I can go and do all her stuff every 2 hrs that she needs.
