Fussy after vaccinations

posted 6th Feb
Is it normal for LO to be screaming, like seriously screaming pretty much non stop unless she's nursing?

She had her two month check up today and had 3 shots and 1 oral vaccination at about 1:30 pm and it is now 7:20 pm. She was fine and slept the first couple hours after and then woke up and has been screaming
It comes in waves every minute or so and she scrunches her legs up to her chest and screams

Her doctor told us to give her 1 ML of children's Tylenol every 4-6 hours. We just gave her some half an hour ago and she's asleep now.

I'm so worried and have been crying right along with her   I feel so bad.

That is a lot of vaccinations in one sitting.

give her a warm bath and massage her legs (or wherever the injection sites are)

Try to keep her comfortable with Tylenol, massage her leg when you can. She'll probably be better by tomorrow night. Muscle injections hurt.

Normal

My LO would get scar tissue/lumps at the injection site for a few months, temps, fussy/crying and tired.. he'd also vomit with some of them.

I hate vaccinating my kids... i like to try and delay it but the stupid government in Australia basically makes you.

They'll cut child care benefits/medicare etc (free dr visits) if you don't do it on time.

It's normal for her to scream? I mean really scream, loud.

I am a worry wart by nature so of course I'm thinking something is horribly wrong.
I googled and someone on a yahoo message board told some woman her infant probably had brain swelling which happens all the time in infants after vaccinations according to her.

I shouldn't google things,it always scares me

I think some swelling does happen, but if she is only 2 months she still has a soft spot so it shouldn't affect anything. Google is scary, don't do it. Lol.

ETA: there have been some cases of where the vaccine had made such an impact that when the parents taken the child to the E.R that the baby would get diagnosed with shaken baby syndrome, and the parents go to jail even tho it was from the vaccine. How awful hey?

I know.. i dont mind vaccinating .. but i hate being forced into it while they're so little.

It breaks my heart to see them have such bad reactions.

Im sure if they were older they could handle it better.

Don't google, its a scary place! Muscle injections are ouchie and baby is tiny. Lots of cuddles, tylenol, and massages. Maybe call doctor in the morning if you are concerned through the night. My pedi always wants to know if baby had any reaction including crying. Hang in there.

I have my daughter a sucker before and let her finish it after her shots. The sugar helps with the pain. It really worked.

When she was a toddler? My daughter is only 2 months old, definitely won't be giving her suckers lol

No I mean now I did it at 4 months and 6 month shots. Works like a charm.
