re: Too much for health insurance?

Quoting loser mom:" OP, has your husband checked to see if he is even able to drop his insurance? A lot of employers will only allow you to drop your coverage during enrollment periods. "

We can drop our insurance whenever we want but can only pick it back up during open enrollment.

I'm obviously not telling you to not have a car, I was replying to her question. And you need health insurance, how will you pay for a nights stay at the hospital?

I currently have no health problems and I understand that I could basically be gambling with the chance that it will stay that way. I am not irresponsible and I know I would be taking a risk. That is why I am so stressed out. But if we can't afford to live this way I am not seeing another choice.

Could you cut out cable and downgrade cell phones first?

HAHAHA... We are not welfare recipients with iphones. We have bottom on the line craptastic cell phones with no data, not even picture messaging. Our TV is also bargain style. All of $40 per month. Which is the cheapest for this area. We don't live above our means and have cut corners any way possible just to make ends meet already. I think alot of people wouldn't understand unless they have been there. It's the, "I make too much money for government assistance, but I can barely afford to live category."

No iv been there and it sucks, it was the most stressful time in my life. I guess just hope you can get your kids low cost healthcare and pray you or your husband won't need medical care. I hope things get better for you, that's really frustersting.

Thanks ladies! It helps so much to have some where to go to talk it out. Even though I still don't know what I'm going to do, it helps to know that there are other families in the same situation. I love baby gaga (most of the time).
