Bed rest questions

What all does it entail? Am I supposed to literally stay in bed all day except to eat and use the restroom? Or can I lay in the recliner and watch tv? My doc basically said no shopping or doing chores. To take it easy. Its because of high blood pressure, which he put me on a med for. Oh, and is sex out of the question?

It sounds like you're on moderate bedrest and not strict so that means that recliner would be fine, just stay off your feet and no, unless your doctor clarifies it with you, don't have sex on bedrest, it will raise your heart rate and I'm not sure how that would affect your bp.

I'd ask the doctor. Maybe call the office first thing tomorrow?

Unless your cervix was dilating you don't have to be layed out flat. U can be in the recliner. Just rest. Don't do anything to raise your BP. You'd have to ask about sex. Idk how much that can raise your BP. You'll wanna keep your feet up too to prevent swelling. And you do need to walk a little otherwise you can get blood clots. Make sure while you're laying or reclining that you move your ankles around to help simulate blood flow.
