Sharing rooms
posted 6th Feb
So if we have another and it's a boy, they'll be sharing rooms. We have a third bedroom, but it's an office and we're trying to avoid clearing it out for a while longer until the kids started asking for separate bedrooms. How did you fit toys AND two beds in one bedroom? Or did most of the toys end up in the living room? MAYBE we just have too many toys or bigger toys...I don't know...
EDIT: I should mention bunk beds won't be an option. We just spent $1,000 on a VERY NICE bed for Christopher from American Furniture Warehouse. Of course the new little one would be in a crib until 2 or whatever.

We had the kids sharing a room at first. When we moved into a 3 bedroom it was honestly worth it to turn our room into a room/office and give them their own rooms. They always woke one another up, bugged each other. It was SO MUCH nicer when they had their own space. However, yes, lots of toys and stuff were in the living room too. Now that they have their own rooms it's much better.

I have 2 boys and 2 girls. my kids have always shared rooms. my girls have their room with a toddler bed and a crib (toys in the closet), and my sons have their room with a bunkbed. then in our extra room, all the other toys go in that closet.

Christopher does too so I guess we could do away with a dresser, but no clue where we'd move the TV which is the main reason we've kept the dresser in his room.

We switched rooms so our boys can have the bigger room.... A lot of their toys will be in the closet and toy bin that holds A LOT of toys.. As a new born DS #2 will be sleeping with us and when he gets older he'll be in the room with his brother. Right now they have TONS of space in their room I do recommend lots and lots of storage bins keeps everything neat and tidy!

I live with my boyfriend and he had 3 boys with his ex wife and we have one daughter together. We put all the boys in one bedroom (2 cribs, 1 toddler bed and it's even a pretty small room) and all their toys in there and it works. My daughter has her own room. The boys just end up bringing the toys out into the living room anyways. I just have them put their toys away before they go to bed at night or before they go back to their moms house. The old toys they don't really play with are in their closet. I put all their clothes in my daughters room in a dresser. For right now we only get his boys every other weekend and one day out of the week (so not too often) but we are trying to get them every other week and we are still planning on keeping the arrangements just the way they are.

Smart thinking. We have the master with the walk in closet. It might be an option since I could store some toys in there.

When the kdis did share a room we also gave them the larger room. It did make it a lot easier.

I suppose we could move a few things out of his room to make room for another bed if we needed to. It's a longer bedroom at the end of our trailer. I could put things like the slide outside and move a shelf or two out of there and get rid of some old toys or move some toys into the living room.

We took out the slide we had and down sized on toys and removed the dressers because as we all know children love to pull out the clothes anyway

Before we had Marcus we had our room, the office room and tash's room.
Then we change our room into room/office and the kids had their own rooms and toys in their rooms and always so messy.
We recently changed Natasha's room into a shared bedroom only, for them both. And changed Marcus's room into their play room.
Honestly much much better than it being our office. Our room is big enough to house two desks with computers on and chairs.
And the third room is perfect for their play room because they have way too many toys.
And it's easier at bedtime then too because they arent staying awake playing with their toys in their room.

DS1 and DD currently share a bedroom, and DS2 is in with us. I don't allow any toys in the bedrooms, coz they have far too many, and they don't like to pick up after themselves. So we made our garage a toy room. And when LO gets old enough to be in an actual bed, him and DS1 will have our bedroom and DD will get her own room.
Just have no idea where me and SO are going to sleep yet lol

until brooklyn was 1 and a few months she was in the walk in closet then we moved her on.. their toys are in their room and the living room, but their rooom has his twin bed, a dresser, her crib and toys.. their room actually isn't that cramped but like i said their toys do overflow into the living room, but they're not like overtaking the room they have a little corner with their kitchen/table and then the fireplace when we aren't using it(the bricks)
