Law student as a lawyer..

Has anyone did this?

Today the judge advised my to do this. It is for a peace bond, in which I am fighting because 1) it didnt happen and 2) it will effect my schooling and Career. 3) I did not waste $48 000 and the last 2 years of my life.

I have character letters (from the profs at the college) , and witness letters.
Should I be expected to have anything else?


trying to prove you didnt, do anything is almost impossible !

I'm sure a student would be supervised by a licensed attorney. At least I would hope so!

I'm really curious, though. Do you mind giving more details?? I've never heard of a peace bond before. I understand if you don't want to.

He is accusing me of
a )Trying to run him and his children (not LO) over with my car.
b)going to his girlfriends work place and causing a scene, calling her a bitch, and laughing at her.
c)trying to contact him .... this is true.. we have a child together with extreme medical issues.
b)stopping in front of his house repeatedly....(there is a stop sign, and he lives on a corner.)

When I put a PB on my ex I went to the cops and I actually feared for my life after we broke up. He beat me NUMEROUS times and they had it all on file...... This is all he said she said smurf. I think you'll be fine.... especially if you have no history. and I don't think a PB would effect your ability to get a job

Ok... I had to google peace bond, lol.   But I think I understand what's going on now.

So basically you've been ordered not to have any contact with him, and I assume since you mentioned his house, you can't drive by there or something??

A peace bond is similar to a no contact order/restraining order.

Because it says "and their children.." on the order. It will effect my career, current placement and when I register with the college of ECE's.

after all would you want someone who actually did this around, and caring for your child full time?

OP, I can understand wanting to fight if it's going to be on your permanent record. I think using a law student could be a good option, they might provide free services. Good luck.

Did any of this actually happen and does he have any proof?

I have watched law students represent people in the courtroom, and in my opinion they were every bit as knowledgeable and professional as attorneys. Maybe even moreso because they have more to prove, lol.

Is the judge the one on his case with the restraining order? Or is this the judge used regularly in LOs family cases? Or just a judge at random?
