It's the same here as well.
I was told both sets of parents were arrested as well, but I looked up arrests in the chick's town and surrounding areas, but I found nothing.

Idk the whole thing seems kind of odd to me.

See I do know that here, in order to actually become a foster related to the children, the kids will go there till a court date is set up usually within 48-72 hrs, the AUNT in this case would have to attend, and if she plans on fostering them, they need a police record check done, proof of income and rental or house deed etc....
Once that is done, they would need to fill out a plan of care "court papers" state how she would be the best person to care for them etc......and apply for custody if wanted too, but if applied for custody they no longer can get social services to pay for the kids to live there (where proof of income comes in) if only going temp care fostering then they still pay etc....

Then a judge as well as social services makes the final descion on where the kids stay. If they feel she cant do it where she lives etc....they will split the kids up or they remain there till they find someone who has bigger place.

Thats our process here.

She's right on a lot of that. There's be a court session and every thing. I was assuming that the chances of being placed with the aunt. I misread it to that the aunt was trying to get them and what was her chances. I'm very sorry about that.

And in that case, it sounds like a half baked story to me if she already has them and these are the conditions their in. CPS won't allow them to be on the floor on a single mattress and two babies sharing a crib.

From the way the chick was talking it was like CPS just dropped the kids off and left.

I forgot to mention that one of the 3 bedrooms is used as an office. No bedbor anything.

OP, how long has the aunt had the children? I could see in an emergency situation, where CPS needed to remove the kids immediately, and there weren't any foster homes available. But I'm sure they would set a deadline to get beds and dressers and what not.

In any case, I hope the children are able to stay together. How sad.

2 of the kids have been there about a week, maybe longer. The others have been there for only a couple of days.

I know here they would NOT let the aunt keep the kids in conditions like that, each child over 1 would need their own bed and not on the floor.

I can't tell you much on the arrest part, but I would hope that you'd at least had been able to find pending charges or something.

I wouldn't want to call bs on it either but it's looking to be that way. They have to be making better arrangements if it was a emergency placement within a week or so.

Is there any chance you can call CPS and ask? I don't know if they'd give out the information. On the arrest portion, I'd be calling or heading to the court clerk to ask because it might not be showing up online yet.

We can't. Criminal records here are 100% confidential, employers can only check with your permission and if its a childcare place like daycare school etc....

Other then that, they are not allowed to check, well they wont find anything cause its private. Even sex offenders are confidential.

I was checking the arrest reports on the news websites for the area. But maybe it's behind and hasn't been put up yet.

Some areas will keep a update on things that. I know my weekly area paper actually prints out a list of people that have been charged from a variety of things. They put photos and a tiny summary of the charges.

I also know that you can walk in the court clerk office here and request some things. Like if there was a request for full custody, had to do that recently for someone else.

If I was looking at a relative saying that CPS did this type of thing, I'd have to call and make sure.
