After school care ( Aussies)

posted 6th Feb
Is there anyone out there who uses an after school care program? I start back at uni next week and don't finish until 4:30 mon-wed.

What do you use? YMCA Or family daycare? Just weighing up my options.

I dont have kids, but does your school/kindy do Out of School Hours Care? I would think that would be easy if they do. You wouldnt have to worry about transport or you child settling in, they just go to a classroom at the end of the day and there would be one or two kids yours already knows.

my sons school has a pick up service done by a local church who do after school care. i am looking at going back to work and i have a friend who is going to live with us and be a part time nanny for my little two but she doesnt have her licence so i will be needing to send my son there... otherwise yes alot of daycares or even schools will do after school care! i would personally shy away from daycare one coz i used to work in one and the school kids would just get bored as it wasnt set up for their age group

I don't need after school care at the moment, but I have looked in to it for when I start study later in the year. Luckily Amelies school has afterschool care. Otherwise I would have used the darcare down the road. For me, I was looking at places close to the school, because I am a paranoid person, and don't trust other peoples driving. lol. So the less distance she would have to travel in someone elses car, the better. But then, every child is different too... so you have to take in to account how she is after school? Is she normally pretty tired, or still eergetic? Daycare is more of an active environment, so if she is tired after school, that surrounding might be a bit much for her. As apposed to in home care, where she can go back and just relax on the couch or something, in a much quieter place.

Yesterday was Amelies first day back, and she was a grumpy little terror from the moment she got home. Little bugger.

I was wondering why you hadn't been on facebook much. lol. I figured I was just on there too much.
