Anatomy Scan... Bummed. :(

I have my anatomy scan on the 19th of this month.

My husband starts a new job this Monday, so he won't be able to go. I'm afraid to ask him if he can get off work early for it, because he would have just started this job.

I don't want to go by myself, and I'm really upset. I was looking forward to finding out the sex with him.
I can't reschedule it, I have already tried. All of the available times are in the morning... when he's at work.

I'm just sad.  

See if he can explain to his boss how much it means to him and that it is the most important ultrasound and maybe they'll be understanding?

Awww..... can you get it video taped and watch it at home with him?

I'm hesitant to do that. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I am.

This is frustrating.

If theres not way to go get the tech to write it down adn put it in an envelope. Then you guys can open it together maybe over a nice supper or something and be surprised together.

Tell your doctor not to tell you, and instead have them print a picture and put it in an envelope to take home with you. Open it together with your hubs when he gets home.  

Maybe you could have the tech write down the gender and put it in an envelope that way you could both open it together and find out when he gets home ?

Yeah, I was planning on getting the DVD as well, but it just isn't the same.

Or even a fun way to tell him, but my mind is blank.

Anytime my ex wanted to be to an appointment with me, he would give them a few days notice that he had to slip out for an hour or so for an appointment.
He was still quite new to his job around that time as well.

Maybe he can see if he can do that?

Or find out, go home, make a cake in the corresponding color, ice it plain and have your hubs cut int it for his dessert?

My friend did this when her DH couldn't be there. She had them turn the screen away while they did it and they posted "IT'S A BOY!!!" on the screen shot of the genitals. They watched it that evening together so they would find out at the same time.

I'm going to cave in and ask him when he gets home tonight, if maybe he could leave early.
