dont be sad my husband didnt get to go with me neither to my gender ultrasound he was more upset then i was but i showed him the pictures from it and told him the sex of the baby and he was smileing again i didnt want to go by my self neither i wanted him there for support but due to my medical insurance they wouldnt allow him to go with me to my doctors appointments.

why would your insurance stop him?

See if the ultrasound tech will write down the gender and put it in an envelope. Then later on when you and your husband are together you can open it together to find out. That would be neat!

When my husband was about to start his new job, he let his boss know in advance days that he already needed off for things he had already had planned. I'm sure they would understand!

If he can't be there, I'd have them not tell you, write it down and find out together, that way you still have that moment

Oh do I feel your pain.
I've been to all my appts. alone, and will be going to the anatomy scan next week alone too. I decided to make my fiancé wait until the gender reveal in late may at the shower- that's how upset I am with his lack of presence in this time where support is vital.

If your husband can't get off, is it really worth him risking issues with his job? Think about all the potential time he could be taking off after the baby is born and weigh out which seems more imortant. I hate to put it that way honestly.
Anywho you really do have many options and while it might not be what you're dreaming of imagine the sheer excitement on your hubby's face especially if you wait until he gets home to learn what gender it is with him...so thoughful.
The DVD, or letter are great ideas if he can't be there. The DVD will literally show him the experience like he was there. Play it back, watch his response I'm sure it'll put a smile on your face either way.
Also the cake is a reallllly awesome idea especially if you find you are anxious to wait for him to come home, baking will help you get your mind off of that.

If you simply dread the thought of being alone, invite an extremely close friend.
My bestie is going to try to make it from a different state to come support me, for that ultrasound; having support from family/friends is vital as well.
