Maybe if he can't go, have them slip it in the envelope and open it at dinner together? That way you find out at the same time.

I understand you wanting him there, but my husband was not at the appointment for either of my kids. we got printouts and videos, and he saw them. it sucks, but it is what it is.

and i have a lot of friends who opt for a gender reveal party now. I wish I could have done this... too bad I am not having any more babies

Yeah, but I personally wouldn't want to request time off for an ultrasound at a brand new job. It just doesn't look good. Ultrasounds are nice if you can go, but it isn't like the birth or an emergency or anything. . .

Lock it in the trunk.

Go out to dinner. Give the envelope to the waiter and tell them to bring a dessert that matches the gender inside. Bigger surprise for the both of you.

I know and I understand. It sucks =( That's why the envelope would be cool. You guys would make it something really special to find out at the same time, and he wouldn't jeopardize any standing at his job.

Like a blueberry muffins for a boy, or pink lady fingers.. the restaurant you pick would come up with the idea, but then its a surprise for both of you!

I agree with everyone. it sucks he can't be there but turn it into a positive. this is a great opportunity to do a cute gender reveal that will be special and memorable
