Call the local library. They have a room you can rent for free/cheap w deposit.

My 1st was held at a hall. And when I was preg with my third my sister threw me a sprinkle at my house. I'm currently planning my sisters first and it's being held at a hall  

IT would really depend on how many were expected to attend...
When I get my "family" shower thrown it's always in a rented or community space.
When my friends throw one, because usually it's just the best ones there, they have it at one of their houses...
...I would say being pregnant I would not want it at my own place because once you get done with everything, and for me anyways, was super tired -I was ready to go home... It'd just be awkward to ask everyone to leave once you got tired of them being there, lol.
