Calling all educators !

I have to make a IFSP, which is much like an IEP.

Does this sound decent for a short term goal?

The first goal set in place for Javier is to complete small step by step tasks by using visual aids as well as a teacher providing feedback and specific praise frequently in the classroom during ‘center choice’ time while participating in parallel play with one other child. This will allow Javier to be around his peers while individually working on his own.

and for a 2nd.

The second short term goal put in place for Javier is to acknowledge and express his feelings. This goal will be achieved by using visual aids of basic emotions. (happy, sad, anger, scared, tired ect..) Javier and I will also be creating an emotions book titled ‘When I feel _____, I do ____, but I should do ______. This book will contain different emotions, and different stories told by Javier in which he related to the emotion, together Javier and I will create options of which he can do when he feels a certain way. We can then refer back to this book, when Javier is beginning to feel a certain way. This will help Javier recognize his feelings, express his feelings, and react in a positive manner.

I know when we do it we have to define what and when and they want to to sound more professional. Example

By January Javier ( hoping for online you changed the name) will be able to do "this" with only visual cues. He will also be completing tasks during parallel play so to maximize peer interaction.

for this assignment I still have create 2 long terms goals, my teaching strategies, a summary, and some local resources for the family.

Thinking wise you are on the right track. It takes time to get used to the technical wording. Can you google sample ones or even sample IEP's that will help some.
