When do most people have baby showers?

Im due May 14, and I am having a baby shower on Feb. 23 with my old job, and my family wants to throw me one for family and friends in April... when I am 35 weeks pregnant! I have a feeling I will not go full term, being overweight, and baby is growing fast. Is it wrong of me to request that the shower be held in early-mid March? I just hate to complain when someone is trying to do something nice.

I am due March 27th and having my baby shower this Saturday. I would say 33-35 weeks is normal for a baby shower

I am overweight was for both my pregnancies and delivered at 38 and 39.2 weeks. Being overweight doesnt mean having an early baby nor does having a "big" baby.

Most are around 35/36 wks. Just had mine at 38, you'll be fine.

and surely you've got as much chance as anyone to carry full term?
My mums been very overweight and had 4 of us on our due dates and carried the 5th to 43weeks...

Eh, don't worry about it. If your baby comes early, people will understand.

If not, then you'll have another nice baby shower before baby comes.

with my oldest, I had my shower at 35 weeks, and then ended up going into labor early and had him at 37 weeks. 35 was cutting it close... with my oldest daughter I had a shower at 30 weeks, because I lived out of town and it seemed smarter to do it earlier.

Then I went overdue and was still twiddling my thumbs for a few weeks wishing I had more to do to get ready.  

I had mine after LO arrived.

even f you do have baby before the shower... couldn't you still have it after and call it a welcoming party or something? lol. xx

I had mine right at 33 weeks, if I remember correctly.

With my oldest I had my shower after he was born since I lived out of town. I had my second one at 36 weeks.
