If you weren't an idiot, you'd know she has a legit reason to be concerned since pica is real.

Even those most observant parent has a child that eats non-food items.

Bri- I'd be concerned, to be honest. It might be something to bring up to her pedi and get a referral for a child psychologist just to rule out pica.

If you know she shoves things in her mouth then why give it to her? If your such a good parent then why don't you take her to the doctor if your worried instead of complaining on here? Everyone works thats just a lame excuse.

I suppose she should just put her in a plastic bubble...so she can chew her way out?

Just so she doesn't run into the possibility of finding cardboard?

It's both. Chewing on the stuffed animals.

I was going to wait until her 3 year, but I'll bring it up tomorrow at her sister appointment.

Charlie did a lot of that, but grew out of it.. his favorite was chapstick and bleach.

i ended up never cleaning around him because he would follow me and lick the surfaces.

his little sister eats markers, crayons, chalk, and chapstick.. im hoping she too will grow out of it.

No you're right. I'll put my 2.5 year old in a completely empty room.

I'm not complaining. Simply asking if it's normal behaviour or not. I thought that's what this site was about. Miss high and mighty.

See at first. Was like "meh crayons. Normal kid." But now it's legit everything. She chews her stuffed animals in the car. Crayons when we're coloring. We went to a party and she chewed on the cardboard when she was done eating thegummies.

Your lucky one grew out of it. My 10 yr old.still.chews on any rubbery plastics like silly bands elastics etc...its frustrating at times ppl.stare when we go out. Its mostly when she is nervous and being shy and she does it without even noticing she is doing it.
