smurf you paragard! tmi

Have had it since July and this is my 3rd pp period... woke up in a puddle of blood even tho I wore an overnight pad... OK not a puddle but a mess.... Does it get better eventually??? I just have 2 days of real heavy flows and 5 of light..

Other than the massacre scene I haven't had any problems so can't complain guess

Everyone I know who has used paraguard said that their flow was super heavy the entire time. Mine was terrible with it too.

Wait, did you breastfeed and it postponed your period? Because paragard doesn't interfere with you getting your period. Unless you didn't have a period until 3 months ago, you should have had a period every month.

Anyway, I've had mine since early November and just finished my 4th period since having it. My first period with it was super heavy and long but it's been great since then. About 5-7 days of bleeding, about the same as you, around 5 days of really light bleeding and a day or two of heavy bleeding. I can get over it for the protection it provides.

I loved my paraguard for the first year or so that I had it and then it went to smurf. Anyone who says that it doesn't mess with periods is right because there are no hormones in it but it does interfer with the normal flow of things. My periods started coming late (up to two weeks) and when it did come it was like a murder scene but with brown (old) blood and cramps/back pain that I had never had before. It also irritated my cervix to the point that I couldn't have sex without extreme pain. In theory it's great but in reality you're inserting a forgien object into your cervix and leaving it there for an extended period of time. As soon as I removed it most of the problems I had went away (the cervix pain took a few months) and we realized that a clot had formed around the IUD and was blocking everything up.

Oh yeah... Oops....I was breastfeeding that's why it was delayed.... Yeah I live everything else about it... But the blood.... So much blood

yeah mine was like 3or 4 days late this time and I was freaking... I've read so many horror stories but I can't do hormones...and I'm scared to go under for the tubal....ugh condoms suck

That's how I was when I had it. My periods were HORRIBLE. Heavy bleeding, cramps that would make me feel like I was in labor. And it made my hips hurt.. Sounds weird but it is a known side affect. Once I got it taken out everything has been a hundred times better!
