Morning sickness. So over it! When did yours stop?

posted 5th Feb
I'm having terrible morning sickness. It's my first pregnancy and my mum never had morning sickness for all three of her children. Feeling depressed and bored. I take restavit coz that's what the doctor said to have, and coz it's actually a friggin sleeping pill I'm even more dopey and tired then before. It helps me to not be sick though. I'm just over lying in bed, trying to ward of vomiting. Wondering when it will stop.

It never stopped! With either pregnancy. I was either nauseous or hungry and then I threw up whatever I drank or ate.

Somewhere between 16-20 weeks with my first 2... but it came back on and off after that.

I'm almost 24 weeks with #3 and morning sickness subsided around 12-13 weeks this time, thank god.

Geez.. Well that's bad news. Total Bummer. I've herd week 14 was when it should settle down, n I've herd hyperemesis only happened to 1% of pregnant women. But your replys are blowing those hopes out of the water! Lol. I guess I'll keep vomiting or sleeping all day for a while then.

Ew why would he prescribe that instead of the thing allll other drs prescribe for morning sickness? Call him and tell him you want a prescription for dissolvable Zofran. It has saved my sanity. I had morning sickness until month 9 with my daughter 12 years ago. They almost hospitalized me because of the extent of it   I'm 17 weeks now and ran out of my zofran, figured I would be be good since I'm in the second trimester, I couldnt POSSIBLY have morning sickness still. WRONG-O!! Took a few days to get the script and I wanted to die. I had to eat every 3 hours or I'd be heaving like crazy   That smurf is amazzzzing

My doc said it is classified as A1 for pregnancy, so the best of the best with no side effects for bub. I was worried when I got it at first coz ive never had sleeping pills. So I called the local alchemy place and they said the chemical stuff that is in restavit is in a leading morning sickness brand ( plus added vit b) in Canada. So I suppose they would have had to go through testing to label it for pregnancy. It's made me pretty useless though.

Because doxylamine's safety in pregnancy has been extensively studied and is approved for that usage. Zofran's safety is completely unknown. Its use in pregnant women is off-label.
OP, add B6 to the restavit (doxylamine), it helps make it more effective. It's called diclectin in Canada, and it's the only thing routinely prescribed to pregnant women. How long have you been taking it? Because the drowsiness usually subsides after a bit.
I had MS till 19-20 weeks with my first, started getting better at 14 weeks but still generally sucked. But with this one, I'm 15 weeks and basically fine now, as long as I eat regularly, and when I had it, it was much less severe than the first time. Thank God. I hope you feel better quickly!

Wow! Thanks for the informative response! You've made me feel alot better about the medicine. I've only taken it about 5 or so times coz it really makes me feel stupid. I can't think properly, like I really have to work hard to say stuff properly, n I walk really slow, n yeah I can hardly function. So if I have to go out I take it, but if I don't I just eat plain biscuits n drink water in bed. I get affected by coffee quite alot, so maybe it's like that? I donno, but cheers for your post,
