You've never been out alone with your child in 10 months?

They certainly aren't helping you any by not sending you into the world alone with your child.

I think it's a bit ridiculous, yes. Well, unless you have an issue that makes it very difficult to be alone in stressful situations.

It's not that I care, per se. I just can't fathom not being out in public alone with my kids; to constantly have someone there. I feel like as a parent, you should be able to handle your children alone under almost any situation. You've never had the chance so you can't say for sure you can, KWIM?

Oh I understand what you mean now. You know I do need to get use to leaving the house with him alone,Because my SO goes out of town for work alot he just hasn't had to since LO was born.
ETA: Thanks for pointing that out.

I run into the same issue with having to clean the house. I'm married, but DH works 6 nights a week, 12 hours overnight (6p to 6a) and has to sleep all day....so it feels like I'm a single mother as far as house work and child care goes....and same here...if I didn't prop once in a while my house would be a pig pen.

No. I do not. But I breastfeed and she doesn't take bottles.

If she's hungry while we're in the car (which rarely happens because I always try to nurse her before we leave the house) then we either wait until we get to where we are going, or pull over somewhere.

*shakes head*

it's such a bitch of a simple solution.

"here you go baby, just suck on my body part. i'll just sit here and try to enjoy all the oxytocin i'm getting... and the bits of endorphins... and the fact i'm being sucked on and can't do anything else."

oh, i totally get why some women choose formula... just like i understand the weakness of eating smurffy.

it's weak sauce, man.

there are definitely circumstances where i'd do it - work would be one. if i couldn't bring my child to breastfeed w/ me. i'd probably fail at it.

too much contraption-y bullsmurf.

stupid modern working world hating babies and mothers.

The fact that I no longer have to even consider these types of things anymore is marvelous.

I hated pumping. I liked the drunk, fuzzy feeling I got but that was about it.
