Fever and pumping for a preemie

I just took my temperature because I was crying(overwhelmed) and my breath and tears felt hot and sure enough my temp is 101.4  
I'm already freaking out because now I can't go visit my son in the NICU, but I just wanted to make sure I can still pump safely. I'm 99% sure I can, I just need to be 100%

Yes you can. If you are sick your milk will give him antibodies.

Yes, you can mama. Those antibodies in your milk are the best thing for him. Hope you feel better!

Could your fever be because you're worked up and not because you actually have an infection or anything that you could pass to the baby?

Ok phew. I can at least go deliver the milk tomorrow and ask about him through the window :/

Yup you can, I couldn't go to the NICU for 8 days because I got a nasty flu, I was at my doctor every other day (his orders), and he started to feel bad after the 4th day so he put me on antibiotics, just in case. I truly hope its not that long for you, but it is very common for NICU Mamas to get sick because of all the stress. I will keep you in my thoughts that its nothing.

You sure you're not running a fever because you're breasts are engorged and you're overwhelmed? I always ran a fever from that!

It is EXTREMELY possible because I haven't been sleeping or eating and I'm so stressed but there's no way to tell and I can't risk getting the poor guy sick.

It was hell, I called the nurses so much during that time. I jumped anytime the phone rang, even if it wasn't the hospital, luckily they only had to call me once, and that was to give permission for a blood transfusion

are your breasts hurting? if they are or if they start feeling hot or red its very likely you have mastitis. wouldnt hurt to call the dr.

No I've had clogged ducts before so I know what that feels like lol
I think I was just wayyyy too stressed starved and exhausted because I ate and layed down and my fever disappeared
