I have a 3 year old son (turned 3 January 8th) and he is against using the potty! Well I can't say that because some days he thinks its cool and he wants to wear his big boy undies and use the potty...but it only lasts for about an hour until he pees himself (after I asked him if he has to go like every 10 min and have him sit on the potty like every 15 if not sooner) he always says he never has to go when I ask him besides today, he said he had to before we left to grandpas and he actually went! He fell asleep in the car, and we go inside and not 15 min later after I asked him every like 2 min if he had to go and has him sit on the potty right when we walked in, he peed.
Then we have some days where he will kick and scream if I even get the potty out and ask if he needs to use it! I've tried soooo many things to get him to want to use it. I give him candy and celebrate when he goes, call his grandpa and have him tell him how awesome he his for being such a big boy! My son sees the school bus go by everyday and that's his biggest inspiration. He wants to go to school SOO bad and he can't until he's potty trained. I tell him that and he wants to use it but he just can't seem to get the hang of it no matter what I try..

I'm started to feel like I'm doing something wrong here. Like other people look at me like "wow your son is 3 and isn't potty train?! My son was 2" or whatever. I feel like people think I don't try and I'm just lazy and don't want to take time to teach him when I do try. I don't stress it on him or anything but I can't help but worry..

Any ideas? :/

My son didn't want nothing to do with the potty at 3 year old. By the time he saw his friends go he wanted to go. My daughter who is a year younger then him was potty trained before him. My son is now 4 year old and my daughter is 3 it took forever to get my son to even wear underwear. Try and bribe him with stuff. For example say "if you want to go to school you need to be potty trained for school."

Did you have him wear diapers while you potty train or just have him wear real underwear and just have to change it all day if he had accidents??

Oh I tell him that ALL the time! Haha and he's like okay ill use the potty now! Then use it, we have a little celebration, then he's pees again in his underwear... Uhhhgg

My daughter turns 3 next week and I thought she would never be potty trained but I jus one day like a week ago said no more diapers and started putting her in panties and she had quite a few accidents but eventually she stopped having accidents maybe 1 or 2 and I asked her like every 30 seconds if she had to go and it was the longest week ever but now she wears panties everyday and even tells me most times when she has to go...

What worked for my son is "you're a big boy now we don't pee or poop in our underwear." All kids are different.

real undies i got some of the tranning ones only 3 because my mom and her floors bullsmurf but when he had an accident wed change him and get him cleaned up and just remind him to tell us.
