Fever HELP!

LO is 2 years old. She's been having runny nose/cough for about 3 days now...today around 7:00 I gave her some medicine called nighttime cold 'n cough for kids. She didnt have a fever at all when I gave it to her and within 25 minutes she's trembling from being cold and has a fever that is now at 103.6....is this e.r worthy?

I would go.

I believe that at that age they shouldn't ehave any cough/cold medicine especially a nighttime formula. Maybe try a lukewarm washcloth to bring the fever down. If it doesn't go down soon I'd take her in. You don't want to give her anything else since you gave her that medicine.

I'm debating. I'm going to call the nurse but I'd thought I'd ask her first because it takes the nurse forever(45 min) to call back. I'm just worried that it could have something to do with the medicine or maybe it's coincidental.

Well it says safe for ages 2+ so I thought it would be okay.
She's been having trouble sleeping because of the cough and I though this would help.

Have yo given any fever reducer?

Yes they can have cough medicine at that age. They make cough/cold meds for 2 years +

No not yet because I didn't know if I could since I already have her the other Medicine although this one doesn't have anything for fever.

I know a lot of doctors don't recommended it at all. My 22 months old has a terrible cough where she couldn't eat or sleep. It was awful. I bought some of the Little Ones HOney Elixer to try since it's natural. Then again I'm a worrywart.   I'd give the nurse a call so you don't waste an ER where there may be sicker people.

You should be good. Just double check the label then I would give a fever reducer. The nurse will likely tell you to do so and if you take her to the ER they will give it to her
