If I don't go into labor by myself I will be getting induced on Valentine's Day. This is my second child. My first child everything was natural and I dont remember being nervous because it was 6yrs ago. But for some reason I am super nervous about this one. Of course after setting up my induction date I looked up the risks and totally set myself into panic mode. Anyone who has had an induction...stories please.
i was induced due to medical reasons and I had zero problems from the induction. I went into the hospital christmas night at 7 pm because I was not dialeted at all. They put cervadil inside me to help soften my cervix. I was able to sleep through the night other than the nurses coming in to bother me. LOL. I had some cramping, but it was pretty mild. then the removed it at 5:30 am and allowed me to take a shower. Next they started the pitocin. at 7 am. by 930 am i was 2 cm dialted then they broke my water. no pain there at all. the only pain i felt from any of it was the actual contractions that i got after they broke my water. by 11:30 am I was 5/6 cm dialetd and was able to get an epidural. I didn't have any complications from this at all either. at 3 pm i was 8cm dialeted the dr said he would be back to check on me in about 2 hours. he came back at 5 and due to the size of my little guys head I only got to 8 cm and my cervix had started to swell. His head was 39 cm at birth. I was in the or, and I could hear all the drs and nurses going oooh...that's big. LOL. Nicholas Carter Ferrioli was born on 12/26/01 via c-section at 5:58 pm. 7lbs 6oz 20 cm long. Other than his big head.. My delivery was so smooth. to me anyways. I was up and walking the next day ..around the hospital.

My due date is Feb. 20th. I have been having to have biophysical ultrasounds every week for the past month plus growth ultrasounds and non stress tests. He is just a small baby but they want him out early.
Trust your instincts. If you are nervous, perhaps your gut is telling you that its too soon to have the baby yet. You do not have to be induced if you aren't comfortable with it.
I was induced with my first because of PreE, I wound up in an emergency c-section. the actual induction was not bad, I was most upset about bot being allowed to eat for 48 hours during my labor.
I have been annoyed by this problem for a long time,so thank you for your post, it is really useful for me.
