Switching Schools

posted 5th Feb
So im moving this weekend.. I already notified Kaylee's current school and her teacher that friday will be her last day...

Well She has to switch schools because its a different district which isnt a bad thing we've had lots of issues

but the main question is how was everyone's kids transistion if they switched early grades (shes kinder) with 3 months left?

Hopefully she will get into the school but if they dont have enough room they said they will have to bus her to a different elementary school if she cant get into the one in her zone.. or the other close one

im just unsure if having to make friends all over plus the move plus the baby will be easy for her

i already have her IEP paperwork, her records everything so they said the longest she will be out of school is a day

Kindergarten shouldn't be too rough. I grew up in a military family and moved every couple of years. I went to 3 different schools in 4th grade and another in 5th, which I handled ok but when I moved again a couple years later it was REALLY hard. But if you're just moving her once or twice while she's still young, it will be an adjustment but it shouldn't ruin her life or anything.

Yeah, that does sound like a lot. But maybe it's better to have it all happen at once? idk. Just keep paying attention to how she seems to be coping. She might just need all the stable stuff to be as stable as humanly possible - get her new room set up right away, keep the same schedule, etc.
