Nurse Called To Remind Me..

That I am having my Mirena out later this week and then said, "you should totally bring pads because ours totally suck and you'll probably start your period ASAP and it's like totally horrid!"

 

I don't know if I should be more worried about the bloodshed that is coming or how many times she said "totally" in our 2 minute conversation. Made me think though...

If you've had an IUD removed, how bad was your first period afterwards?

I would have laughed, if I heard her say totally that many times.

But I didn't have Mirena, but I bled very little from paragard removal.

I HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt your period will start ASAP after they remove it, that seems illogical to me...

I spotted for the first few days and then it was a normal period after i had mine out

That's what I thought!! I mean, unless she just meant that I would bleed... not necessarily start my period. Which concerns me that a NURSE would say that....

I'm assuming she was speaking of spotting, but I mean who knows.

are you sure it was a nurse and not a MA or office staff?

yea.. I'd probably be uncomfortable with a nurse talking like that to me lol

I had mine removed and didnt bleed until a week later, it was like a 'normal' period. And a month later I was pregnant.  

I don't even think i spotted when i had mine removed, but when i had my period the next month it was like normal. Wasn't super heavy or anything.

Haha definitely the nurse, she's always been kind of "airy"... if you know what I mean!

I bled for 5 days after mine was removed

I only had my mirena for 10 months. but when it came out I did not bleed at all. I actually didn't get a period until the next month.

I spotted a little bit after removal, but my period didn't start for about 5 days after removal. And I would have been a little nervous about that nurse too... doesn't sound like she has much common sense or professionalism. lol
