I thought it must have been.

I'm glad they don't check here. It's not exactly comfortable.

Checking did make me lose part of my plug but I still had to have the c section

I doubt her husband's penis is being inserted in the tiny (at this point) opening of her cervix. Besides, the hands are the dirtiest part of the human body.

Still it makes no sense as to why she would check herself

Plus I don't think the penis actually goes into your cervix.....

Doesn't make a difference. Once anything has entered and the juices are flowing the germs are going everywhere, inside, outside...

True, especially under nails. I guess I don't understand why it was such an emergency that op couldn't wait for doctor to check. Checking really doesn't tell you much in healthy pregnancy.

I check it to see if I am any more dilated as my doctor advised it. No but during sex it goes near it and some times even touches it.
I don't get why you have to be so judgemental, I came on here asking a simple question because I was worried and its like im getting attacked for doing something my doctor told me to do. One person stated I shouldn't have so why you all carrying on for? haven't you got better things to do then telling me the dangers of checking your own cervix

I check because its my body, I'm not afraid of being exposed to germs I've already had contact with due to them being on my body. I keep myself clean, and I find the process of pregnancy fascinating and exciting. I think its nice to be more informed about what's going on in MY vagina than someone else. Then I can tell how close I'm getting and even feel my baby's head in the process.

Lol what did you expect? You asked a question they all have you their opinions. It's not all rainbows and butterflies. This was extremely mild so I advise you grow some tougher skin.

It doesn't tell you how close you are. You can be dilated at 2cm for weeks even months before labor. With my first I didn't dilate until labor. It's not that important to know. I would ask that people at least be as sterile as they can when sticking fingers up vagina such as wearing gloves. When we, females, are pregnant our hormones make it easier to have a UTI.
