child support issue

i just filed for child support but im not sure what there going to do so maybe one of you can answer my questions.
1. the father of my kids doesnt have a job thats on the books he works as a taxi driver and gets 40 percent of what he made for the day plus tips. so how are they gonna figure out how much cs he has to pay?
2. how long does it usually take for the whole thing and for me to start receiving payments?

my ex didn't have a job so they ordered him to pay $225 a month for 2 kids. Its faster if you go through the social services child support enforcement & if he meets with a mediator and agrees on a amount then you won't have to go to court

They will ask for proof of income, whether it's a letter or pay stub. I was told it takes about 6 months.. I applied in October and still haven't heard anything.

hes not gonna agree on amount because he thinks he only has to supply them with diapers and wipes every once in a while and doesnt have to actually help me support them. I was hoping i wouldnt have to go to court but its probably gonna happen

Thats to bad... My ex was trying not to pay anything since he wasnt working and the judge said he would base the amount off min wage. He now owes 23,000

yea thats what i figured they would do. he thinks cause hes not working on the books that hes not gonna have to pay anything
