Is it possoible?

posted 5th Feb
My DS is 18 months, and as of this past week, hes been taking his diaper off almost every night when he goes to bed. Plus today hes been taking it off around the house. During the night he takes it off his diaper is wet, and usually nothing else it, so Im assuming he takes it off when he wakes up. Today hes been just taking it off whether it was wet or not.
We intorduced my daughter to the potty when she was 18 months but she wasnt ready to potty train until about 2-2.5 So, is it possible hes ready?
DD never did this.

I was potty trained at 18 months, potty trained myself. I was the youngest of 4 children.

Hes watched DD go to the potty [like go into the bathroom, not actually watched her 'potty'] and has gone with daddy, and knows that we dont wear diapers...

It happens..

I started extremely early with my daughter for personal reasons, I've got the story on my page.. but 18 months isn't too young to want to potty train, especially if he's showing signs, why not give it a try?

Ok, I will probably start. =]
Next question, lol. Does anyone know how you would start, seeing as hes a boy. Im assuming that I just start him out by sitting, right?

Oh gosh, you have me stumped on that one.. maybe let him watch his dad go or something >.<

I've heard putting a 'target' to hit in the toilet works.. so like I dunno, dropping a piece of crumbled paper or whatever

Starting him sitting or standing is more of a whatever you feel comfortable doing. I have also heard putting something in the potty (if you do standing) such as Cheerios and tell him to hit them it helps   my son is only 16 months...I'm not actively potty training but he sits on it once a day just to get used to it.

This sounds like a good idea, to get him even more interested in it. Im going to start him off by sitting, and when hes mastered that His daddy is going to teach him how to stand, but his daddy is going to start letting him go with him to the potty. Thanks ladies for all of your advice!!
