dd has been constipated for over 2 weeks... she poops like every 3 days. doc has me giving her 4-6 oz of prune juice a day... it gets her going but then she blocks up again. i took out all BRAT diet foods and only give high fiber ones like peaches, pears... ext... i dont give her any cereal and her formula has been the same for months... what gives?

do you stop the prune juice for a while before she backs up again? If so you may need to give it to her everyday just at a lower dase. Also talk to your doctor about probotics they help regulate bowels and are natural. It is in a powder form you can mix in with food or drink.

My dd was constipated from 2 months-10 months when we weaned her off formula. She needed 1 tsp of miralax in her bottle a day and now nothing. Do you use soy formula? I'd try that first if she's not.

its nutramagin and for the first 2 months she was on it she would have runny foamy poop which i guess is norm. i even stopped solids for a week to see if it made a difference and nothing.

Yeah my dd just had an issue with formula. We found quick temporary reliefs but the miralax was the only thing to help until she switched to milk.

she just had food allergy testing that came back fine too... this is going to be a long 7 1/2 months LOL

Oh yeah I thought it would never get better. Poor girl has been to the er to many times for stomach pains and bloody stool (it was always nothing but the dr said they didn't want to take the chance that it was something).

My daughters been constipated since birth she is 4 now. She has a dysfunctional anus. She saw a specialist who said sena will give them the urge to go and miralax will soften it. Not sure how old your daughter is but maybe mention it to the doctor to see if it is ok. Sena is a natural med. I think pedialax brand makes stuff with it in it! Good luck!

My pediatrician said u could give half water and half apple juice..might be he same as the prune juice though

My little one got really constipated. She wouldnt drink juice. I had to switch her to gentle formula. And suppositories. She got so bad she bawled and couldnt go at all. good luck
