re: Circumcision?

posted 7th Feb
I haven't read the whole thread, or nearly the whole thread.

I believe circumcision should be a personal choice. Personal choices are made by the person in question, meaning the boy who will eventually be a man who can make his own choice in the matter.

I usually don't wade into circ debates because it truly is like banging my head against a brick wall. You're so right. I only waded into this one because there was one particular girl in here spreading such BS that I was worried OP would believe that crap. I really don't care what people I have never met do with their son's foreskins, I just hope they make the decision based on real facts and not absolute fiction.
I'd have more respect for some parents who said they chose to circ their son because it's just what they prefer rather than if they said it was because foreskins will lead to AIDS.

I don't think so because if that was the case some of the glans would be covered when not erect.

No they didn't. Milah, removing the tip of the foreskin, was practiced for the longest time. People would try to pull their foreskin forward, so rabbis changed it to removing the full foreskin (called periah) so people could not hide, so to speak. You should really google things before you come into D&D.

I was right then they do a full circumcision and take off all the foreskin.

They do NOW. But it is not the traditional way to do it. Not exactly sure if you get what Fat-and-Happy was trying to get at...
