I've ONLY talked about ti so much because before my son was born...I knew NO ONE who didn't circ & so everyone has been all over me on it for almost 6 yrs now. Since then though, there have been at least 3 boys that I know of who are not circed because of conversations their parents had with me. So yay for that. When anyone IRL asks me if I am worried they'll be made fun of I always say "Of course not - you'd never raise your kid so smurffy they'd make fun of another boys genitals right? Wouldn't they be embarrassed to admit they were looking? Why should I be concerned that your kid is going to turn into an smurf or something?" And I say it ribbing them, not all edgy or anything...It usually shuts them up. I also always tell them, I go ahead & talk to my kids about circ & they are aware that everyone is different in this way just like height, weight, skin, hair, religion, etc. if a child doesn't know that -- it's the parent's fault for not teaching about diversity.

Which means THEY caused the damage to their Son's penises.

I didn't. I found, after extensive research, that there is no medical necessity. All the people claiming "it's cleaner" blah blah are full of it. If you are responsible enough to teach your child how to care for himself it's not an issue. Further, it desensitizes them, and I feel it is HIS decision. If he wants to do it, he can do it as an adult.

My son is now almost 5. We have NEVER had an issue, and I'm expecting boy #2. I feel like God made my child perfect, I don't need to "improve" them for an American cultual norm (BTW, America is the only place that regularly circumcises for non religious beliefs. 90% of the rest of the world doesn't circ)

It's a specifically Jewish tradition though, not a Christian one. Americans were told it prevented masturbation and all kinds of crazy stuff from the dude who invented Cornflakes.

I was catching up. I saw that you said you just pulled an assumption out of your ass, don't worry.

What a snarky, bitchy remark.

I wasn't worried, I just made a simple statement letting you know that I had already agreed.

My ds had a problem with not enough skin removed which lead to him having adhesions and having re-done. The problem is they don't take off much as they used to and that causes infections. It also depends on the type method they use. At this point I'm not sure if I would have my next son circumcised.

Actually, as far as I am aware, traditional Jewish circ's do not retract the foreskin and only cut the tip of the foreskin. typical medical circ's forcibly retract the foreskin and remove way more. The forced retraction of the foreskin is what causes the issues.

Here in the UK it is very rare for people to elect a circumcision for their sons. Here it is usually only done if there is a medical need or if it is a religious preference. So the circumcision rates are really low, 2% of boys have it done at birth.
So here I am living in a country where 98% of men are intact and guess what?????????
They are fine. The penises of Britian are not infected and green and falling off.
The men here are not in agony with their wizzened, mouldy penises. they are functioning normally.
They are not riddled with cancer, AIDS or any other disease that the internet would have you believe they are more likely to get if heaven forebid they are not circumcised!
I am not going to say that circumcision is evil because it is a personal choice. I am obviously against it but that is because it is not the norm here. I am sure if I lived somewhere where it was the norm I may feel differently. So I am not posting here to insist you don't circumcise your sons... I am simply posting to insist that people stop believing BS on websites when the proof, the real proof is right here, all around me in the country I live in where I have only ever heard of 2 guys that needed to be circumcised later in life. 2... out of the hundreds of guys/boys I have known in my 33 years. It is very very rare for there to be later issues.

This is to the people in the US who believe foreskins are really bad. Ask yourself this.
How come the vast majority of men in other countries, where circumcision rates are very low, have no problems with their foreskin yet a lot of intact american boys/men are reported to be infected and full of issues? Ever think it was not the foreskin that is the issue but rather the incorrect way in which they are taught to care for their intact penis? Just saying.... because the rest of the world seems to cope just fine.

You're wasting your fingers typing this, I have said exactly what you have in every single Circumcision post I've ever seen on here and the pro-circ's NEVER even reply. Not once has that very statement you just made, I have made many times and many other UK/Australian/etc users have ever been acknowledged, it's like they absolutely can't handle the truth of it
and don't have an answer for it so they just blank it and ramble on about some other crap.
