re: Circumcision?

It's a personal choice you as a parent need to make. Lol whenver I see this posted on here this becomes an ugly topic and people start going back and forth. Honestly my thoughts on it are it's up to you. do your research and if you come to the conclusion at the end of research that circing your son is best, do it. If you feel leaving him intact is best, do it. He is your child and as a parent we need to do what is best for our children.
I had my son circed and I'm pregnant with my second and he will be aswell.

I didn't circ my son because it is his body and his choice. There is nothing wrong with having a foreskin and I view circ'ing as an unnecessary cosmetic surgery. For me, personally, it would be needlessly mutilating a body that doesn't even belong to me.

.... but what would Jesus do? lol Bam! Circ'ing is Christian.

It's magic!

It could be money. Hmmm. I dunno. I just was kinda guessing.

I really think it has a lot to do with money and the medical industry's perpetuation of the myth that our bodies are stupid and could not manage without some kind of intervention.

I agree.

I used to think it was a Christian thing until about a year ago. Then, I researched it and realized that it was only for orthodox jews.

I'm just guessing that people could have the idea that circing is "Godly" because it's what God wanted the Jews to do.

Know I know, it's pretty much cosmetic, nor does it have any spiritual meaning for Christians.

Oh for sure money is a much bigger factor than most want to really ponder & it isn't about making money getting paid to cut if off even, it has aftermarket sales that would astound you (well they astounded me, let's say). Anti wrinkle creams, injections, skin grafting, you name it. Great stuff to have a supply of....and it's INFANT skins they want - that is like using cord blood - it is MUCH more useful than adult skins they can't reuse.

But of course! I had opposition from my mom and the in-laws and religious reasons were used, among many of the standard reasons such as hygiene and being made fun of.

  haha yup.
When Jesus died for our sins things changed. The covenant between us and God changed.
Being circumcised is something jews still do, since they don't believe Jesus died for our sins so they follow the old laws obviously. (depending how strict they are with their religion)

International Standard Version. Galatians 6:15
For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision matters. Rather, what matters is being a new creation.

Personally though, I am not anti circ or pro circ. I'm just pro parents making the best choice for their own children..and doing research beforehand.

I've heard plenty of Christians tell me they thought it was something you should do though. It astounds me because I grew up Christians around Christians & never ever heard it in ANY church I have ever attended (of any denomination) so I always wonder why on earth someone thinks it has anything to do with it though. And you are NOT the first person I have heard say it may be a reason, hence why I already know the passage. I've known Catholics to tell me it is too & I am grew up Catholic & can promise you - there is no connection between Catholicism & circ either.

On the outside I'm pro-parental rights to decide for their child... but inside I'm "stop mutilating your child's genitalia"

On the outside I am"Leave your baby's perfect healthy genitals alone." On the inside I am thinking "I am so sad we put such little value on the rights of infants & children's that they don't even have any protections in place, even for their genitals".

LOL. I have never talked to anyone about circing until BG came along. I don't think it's even studied or talked about, TBH. I had my son forced only because I didn't know any differently. I didn't even know that infants actually died. My husband passed away before my son was born, so I never discussed that. IF I were to have another boy eventually, I just may not.

Well, let's just say if anyone asks me how I feel about circ'ing they're going to get at earful... but I'm not going to offer my opinion... unless someone is blatantly pissing me off lol
