wouldnt u like to ring necks?

posted 5th Feb
Would you invite people ever again to any of ur kids functions if they dont plan on bringing anything but when your invited to their kids function they feel that you have to get something for their own?

example : i invited someone to my daughters first bday party and they complained about how the cake was made ( half chocolate half vanilla) and their piece had a tiny piece of chocolate. Then on 2nd note, they came empty handed.. and the same with the baptism and came empty handed, but they expect the world for their child..

OH yea, and they expect the people they invite to their kids baptism to bring food and drinks because they think they shouldn't have to provide that but cake..
sorry it just bothered me and my daughters father ...

I would not because sounds like all they do is complain. It isn't really about the gifts. I dislike negative people

that actually wouldnt make me angry enough to wring someones neck. I'd just not go to their functions anymore.

I would never expect anyone to bring anything. I would have just told them if they don't like the cake then don't eat it

like yesterday his mom said something to him about how his wife made an invite on facebook like she invited over 75 people from her page and i know they dont know that many people and expect them all to bring food / drinks, and he was like Jenny had a party for her daughters baptism but i cant wtf,.. i was like to her that i never said they couldnt have a party, but dont ask ur guests to cook and bring drinks and on top of that gifts for their child..

Lol... I ment that I would say something really sarcastic to her.

Then I gave an example of what I would have said when she made comment about the cake...

I will never go to a party without a gift... that's tacky. My husband used to see no problem with it, and I wanted to rip his head off each time he acted surprise that we had to buy something...

I think it's extremely rude to come to your party empty handed, but expect you to bring everything to their party. I wouldn't be inviting them to any more parties, if it were me. Friendship is a two way street, it sounds like they expect it to be one-way.

first... anytime I invite anyone to anything I NEVER expect them to bring something. I invite them because I want their company, or want them to share in celebrating something,. Even birthday parties.. I tell them no gifts necessary. Most people bring anyway... but I don't want anyone to not share in our joy just because of financial stress.

as far as being expected to bring something to theirs...I'd decide based on if I wanted to go.. probably less likely to go if they expect me to bring something.. but depends on the friendship.
