Fibromylgia?

posted 5th Feb
How does it effect you?
Does it keep you from doing every day activities?
Does it effect your memory? To what extent?

Do you have to take any medications for it?

A friend of mine has it and I'm just trying to figure out more about it from other people who have it.

I have it.

It really is different for every person. Also, it is different day by day, and depending on what treatment she's getting.

Mines gotten a lot better since starting prozac and muscle relaxers, but I still have my bad days. Good days I find I feel sore, like after a work out. Bad days adn it hurts to even breathe. I get it really bad in my knees and my shoulders/chest/back area. I had a HORRID flair a week ago or so. I thought I pulled a muscle in my back ro something. Nope, looks like it was fibro. I couldn't inhale deep, I couldn't lift, I could barely stand.

It can effect concentration and memory sometimes (called fibro fog), but I find I don't get that really. I do if I'm eating gluten, but then it's the gluten I think, not the fibro.

It's very painful somedays, and not others. There have been times when I can't get out of bed at all. It has never affected my memory, I don't take any medication except pain pills when needed.

My mom has it. She takes 8 oxys a day numerous muscle relaxers. She can't handle any stress or it makes her pain worse. It pretty much sucks.

My husband has it.

His memory is fine. He has his good days and his bad days.

He takes some meds, they pretty much vary between different levels of vicodin. The last one his doc gave him made him sick and dizzy and messed with him bad.
