let say your driving a longer-ish distance and your child tells you he/she has to go to the bathroom and there isnt a restaurant, store, friend near by. what do you do?

I pull over but DS has been PT'd for awhile and doesn't have any issues going outside. You could bring a portable potty and a plastic bag.

Honestly...I told Charlee to hold on. She would NOT use a portable potty or go potty in the grass (not that she probably could have lol)

A few weeks ago I was at a car wash vacuuming my car. The car seat was out and she had to pee. No bathrooms around. I put a pull up on her and told her to go in there. Next thing I know I turn around and she had her pants and pull up down trying to pee on the ground... She didn't know how though and peed all over her pants by mistake Lol
We haven't gone a long distance yet but I'd bring one of those training potties and pull over for her to use it if it were an emergency.

I'm awful.. I put mine in training pants. He feels more secure that way. When my son says he has to go he REALLY has to go.. within a minute.

I kept a small potty chair in the van and pulled over to the side of the road.

as we were driving today it really made me think, last week we started letting him wear underwear in the car and to farther places an he's been doing really good. but I still wasn't sure if it was weird of me to have to pull over and let him pee on the side of the road or if I should put him little potty in te back of the truck. he wants nothing to do w his pull ups anymore
