Mine was right. My placenta ended up stretching across the whole
Left side of my uterus. They almost had to do my csection on my right side. Luckily te placenta was up high enough they were able to do a bikini cut.

it just seems like a bunch of crap...I mean, I think old wives tales are cute but I'd never go out and buy an entire pink or blue set of everything before I knew for sure of what I was having.

There's an ultrasound tech on baby center who volunteers in the ultrasound forum and she just posted something about this the other day saying that there's little validity to it in actual practice.

That said, my placenta was on the right side in early pregnancy, which according to Ramzi would be a boy, but as far as we know she's a girl (of course ultrasound isn't 100% but it looked pretty obvious in 3D at 32 weeks that my fetus has a vagina.)

It is accurate most of the time actually, around 95% according to my perinatologist. It just has to be from a transvag scan at 5-6 weeks. Most people don't typically get scans that early, or get rotated images so you don't know how things are actually oriented. It's Ramzi's theory. You need to ask the ultrasound tech where the placenta is early on, which needs to be determined by Doppler as it's not visible that early otherwise (just starting to form).

Yes, and leave it to Peanut. Placenta is dead center at the top of the fundus, no laterality at all. My doctor said that roughly 70% of babies implanted like that are girls. I'm still trying hard not to get my hopes up though.

I know. What a turd! Several people have told me it's a girl, Robbie swears it's a girl. I have no idea still, no feelings, and am kind of afraid to know, especially since we are supposedly waiting awhile to have #4, which I'm not too crazy about, especially if it's not a girl.

haha....I was in complete denial my entire pregnancy, I would not let myself believe even for a second that I could possibly have a girl, I've had the first ultrasound where the tech said "it looks like a girl" using the nub theory, the gender ultrasound where the said and it was pretty obvious she's a girl and then when we went to the L&D they did an ultrasound and Gabe asked them to check to make sure she was a girl and we got a crotch shot and she was still a girl!.lol...I don't think I'll fully accept she's a girl until the day I have her!...I am getting more excited about buying pink things though!!
