Dilating question.

Im Due Feb 17th. and yesterday i got checked at dr and was told i was dilated to 3 cm. she asked if i want my membranes stripped because im close and it will help it go faster so i said sure. n then she said okay now your at a 4. She said that if i didnt go into labor that night she was pretty sure it would be in a couple days, definitly before my due date. He is Really low so theres alot of pressure. I didnt cramp or have contractions. Only worse braxton hicks. This is my second so i can tell the difference. when i told my mom im dilated to 4 she was like OMG you are pretty much in labor and anyone i tell asks why im not at the hospital. My question is anyone been dilated to a 4 for awhile before going into labor? I dont feel like i will even have him this week. which im fine with hes not due yet. !

I was 5cm for weeks, went way over due

I have been at a 4 for atleast two weeks if not longer

Omigosh I've never heard of that! I was always told at 4cm you're in labor! Lol. Learn something new every day I guess

That's why women end up being induced then csectioned, "failure to progress" when in fact they aren't even in labor yet.

Ugh. I'm not against induction if I were to go too far over due, I've been induced twice, but I would never go for a C-Section just because I'm not going as fast as they prefer. What a stupid reason to have my stomach cut open and rob me of my right to give birth naturally. The only reason I would ever opt for a C-section is if the baby is in distress and needed to come out immeadiatly.

I'm also 39 weeks now now so there's a good chance I will go over due  

Oh Geez!! Yeah everyone is thinking the baby is coming within a couple days and im like i dont feel like it like my body n mind dont feel like hes coming that soon. which im fine with. with my daughter i was only dilated to 2 i believe and got my memebranes stripped on my due date and went into labor shortly after and had her the next day. and it feel like she did a better job at stripping membranes this time then my dr did with my daughter. who knows lol

What happens is they induce you, the pitocin causes the baby to go into distress leading to a c section, so yeah while a c section might not be the plan it's a very common end result.
