No and honestly is quit if the law firm I worked for ever tried to make me pay for something like that. It was a mistake and mistakes happen. Hell even lawyers themselves make mistakes.

I mean that was the first thing that came to mind i mean i could of said no and got into with her but i really dont want to loose my job. I know i smurfed up but things happen.

Yes mistakes happen, and your boss should acknowledge that. I would've said no if you didn't tell her you'd pay it.

Finally someone with some sense. Yes mistakes happen but your mistake costs money. You made it, you should pay it.
If you were a mechanic and you broke something while fixing someone's car the extra repairs would come out of your paycheck! It's like this in a lot of jobs.

Yes, especially since you already said you would.

Your fault = Your bill. You already assumed responsibility and said you would so just do it!

Because I lost my 80,000/year job last year and have applied to over 120 jobs and gone to at least 20 interviews/pre testings and still only have job offers that are a third of what I was making.....

It was your fault & you said you'd pay for it. So yes. I bet you won't do it again after you have to foot the bill.

If you already said you'd pay it, you should. If not, I'd be ready for an argument and probably get fired. But you know your boss better than us so you can determine how well changing your mind might go over.

You told her you'd pay for it and it was YOUR mistake to cancel it so yes, I'd pay for it and move on. If things are tight, hopefully it won't happen again and I'm not trying to be mean so please don't take it that way.
