Smurf, I just had Ontario human rights take my ex employer for free and it was hard as hell to get done, my friend is suing the same employer and went to her own private lawyer, its been a year, nothing is done and shes paid out her ass for it.

Flip...if either of us could have paid a measly $85 to get out of what we got into I would have done it in a heart beat.

Yes she is late and so is everyone else. Things DO happen. There are WRECKS. You act like you nor your significant other arent ever late to anything come on now. A employer understands things like that happen.

Of course it is not easy. I just stated how I've dealt with that on first hand.  
When someone sued my employer and I had to get the documentation ready for a depo. and such it took almost 4 years. Trust me I know.

I don't know how the laws are in PA. I live in VA, and unless you have it in writing that you were fired specifically because you are the wrong religion, race, or sexual orientation, you are smurfed as far as suing for wrongful termination. The laws vary by state, but it's my understanding that most states are at-will, and it is just about impossible to get anywhere with a lawsuit if you are fired. Even if you have piles of evidence of sexual harassment, or anything like that, the courts just about always side with the employers.

It sucks, but I understand it too. If the laws didn't protect business, then any smurf who's pissed about getting fired could bring down a whole company, which serves no benefit to the community whatsoever.

She stated "3 BIG times" so that implies that she has messed up more then 3.
I don't have to work so I'm never late. Either way though she said she would pay for it so she should.

First off I am not in PA. Second. WRONG! I work in the legal field you are not as you say "smurfed". You just have to have enough to back your case up.

I honestly think it regards what you bring to the table. If you do not have supporting evidence then you are screwed. But like myself I keep track of EVERYTHING. Emails, time, etc.

But every court and every business is different. All I have to say to everyone is always keep everything. Track everything and keep files of everything.

I have yet had an employer that accepted me being late because 'life happens'. Everyone gets life happens that's why your suppose to anticipate it. If I was scheduled to start at 5, my boss doesn't want me there at 5:10 because traffics bad..I need to leave earlier.

My grandmother is the same way. But she has been late at times. So for you to sya you are NEVER late I HIGHLY doubt that.
