pressure/cramping?

Last night I have horrible back/hip pain and crampy pain in my lower abdomen.. took some tylenol and the back pain went away but still feel crampy and there seems to be pressure down there. my o.b does not open up until 930 I'll call than but was just wondering is this normal around 24 weeks .. I've read the baby goes through a growth spurt around now?
