If you were doing IVF would you transfer multiple embryo's for no other reason other than you wanted to increase your chances of twins?

no, but people paying for IVF are typically out of other options.. and want to increase the odds of ANY embryo implanting...

often none implant.. so transferring multiple increases the odds that one will take

I meant more along the lines if you had a very good chance with one. Would you a
Would you risk a low risk pregnancy vs a high risk one?

So it's not just about pregnancy but increasing te chance of multiples.

No. We never transfer more than one embryo specifically to avoid twins.

I don't understand why people would do something that increases the chance of twins just for the sake of having twins. They're willing to increase the likelihood of a NICU stay just to be cute?

No. While I think the idea of twins would be cool, the reality and risks of twins is not.

No. I feel it's an irresponsible move considering what frequently happens with pregnancies that have multiples.

NO, I have twins. I don't understand why ANYONE would CHOOSE to do it that way. It's HARD.. and hard for the kids. THey have less time each with mom. less cuddle time, less rocking, less snuggling.

Twins run rampant in my family. Both of my grandmothers had fraternal twins, and my older half-brother's wife has had fraternal twins (I know, I know, the father doesn't count in twin making).

I think it would be cool to keep up with the family tradition

This is my thought too.
The person who's blog I read.. she has ALWAYS wanted twins and always gone for more embryos for that reason..
Well she finally got them but it's just such a HUGE risk.

I know another women who had issues conceiving, always did two embryos and had a healthy daughter. Then got pregnant with twins.
From day one it was trouble, she gave birth before 30 weeks. One baby was stillborn and the other was so premature she was in hospital her entire life.. She made it to I think over a year but then died.. 3 or 4 weeks before her mom gave birth to another child who they'd conceived naturally.

For this reason alone I just wouldn't do it.

That is so sad.
