re: question for women WITH circumcised sons

My son was circumcised and I'm pregnant with DS2 and he will be as well. I feel like I'm anti circ because of everything I've read and the risks involved...however, I'm not a man and since DH is I let him choose.

My four year old is circumcised, but my 16 month old is not. I would never do it again. It's completely unnecessary and turned out to be a lot of pain and "work" for no reason.

There is no more risk of infection with an intact penis than there is a circumcised penis.

always going to be a major controversy between moms, But i feel its a good thing.. my son didn't seemed bothered by the procedure it wasn't hard to take care of and in the long run its so much cleaner...

My ds got circumcised right after he was born, but it wasn't done correctly and it lead to a few infections and extra skin covering his glans. At one year we had him circumcised again and it looks a lot better and no more infections. These days they don't take off as much skin and sometimes that makes it worse. You may want to ask if for a complete circumcision if you have it done. I'm not sure if I will have it done on my next son.

But YOU are the one who HAS a foreskin (over your clitoris). Why let the blind man decide how well your son will see? Foreskin feels REALLY good. Seriously it's the best part. Informed adults can decide for themselves about their own bodies. Look at the next man you see and tell him you don't trust him to decide how to fight STDs or how to wash, because your son will someday be a man and that is what you're telling the future him.
